Selective sync allows you to free up space on your local machine by choosing which folders uploaded to Cubbit you want to keep synchronized on your computer and which to keep only in the Swarm. Your files will always be available online.
Step 1: Open the Cubbit application, click on the Settings icon and then choose the Selective Sync pane. After opening the Selective Sync management pane, a message will be displayed (Please wait until we load your files...).
Step 2: Once your file tree is fully loaded, you will have the option to select or de-select whichever folders are present in your Cubbit Folder. In the example below, the folders The Beehive, Documents and the sub-folder Details have all been de-selected. Click confirm and you are done!
The de-selected folders will be automatically removed from your local Cubbit folder once the process is finalized. If this doesn’t happen, do not remove them manually, this would result in deleting the folders from the Swarm. If needed, contact our tech support for help!
Remember, if you de-select a folder and later want to re-select it, you will need to download all of its contents to your local Cubbit folder again - so be aware of this if it is a large folder. Also keep in mind that Selective Sync will be disabled when data synchronization is in progress.
