Share with Link allows you to share folders and files with anybody. You have the option to generate public links or private links protected by AES-256 military-grade encryption keys.
Share with Link will not affect the original file or folder because it creates a copy. Here's how it works:
Step 1: Sign in to your account on web application. In the folders and files list, find the folder or file you want to share and then click on the three blue dots on the right.
Step 2: A context menu will pop up, choose Get link.
Step 3: A Manage link pop-up window will open. Your first choice is a Public link. Click on the Copy link button to copy it in your system clipboard. A confirmation message (Copied to clipboard!) will be briefly displayed in the text box.
Your second choice is a Private link, which is locked behind an included passkey. You will need to use the Copy link and Copy key functions in order to manually share this information with the receiver. We suggest to do this in 2 separate messages - or better yet - using two different methods (like email and text message, for example).
Step 4 (optional): If you need to disable access to a link, whether Public or Private, you can easily do this by clicking on the green sliding button in the top right of the Get link window.
This is how the Public Link section would look, with the Copy Link button greyed out and a “Link disabled” message will be shown...
...and this is how the Private Link section would look, with the Copy Link and Copy Key buttons greyed out and a “Link disabled” message shown.
If you would like a deeper level of collaboration with someone, using the Share folder feature may be more appropriate. Allowing you and your collaborators to add/remove files together instead of sending copies.
