The Cubbit desktop application supports several file systems, but sometimes we can run into problems if using a particular one outside of the supported list. Below are two of the most common errors related to the same problem, and also some steps to resolve it!
Cubbit folder relocation failed:
If you are trying to move the Cubbit folder to a different location from the originally selected one, that is OK - however - if the new destination selected is on a drive that has an unsupported file system, it is possible you will see this error:
To resolve this issue, make sure you are moving your Cubbit folder to a drive with one of the file systems seen below!
Migration failed:
In order for us to offer the best syncing services possible, our newest application versions (9.0 and above) integrates a more robust sync engine. All of your currently synced files and folders need to be migrated to this new sync engine in order to work properly - however - if the Cubbit folder is currently on a drive that has an unsupported file system, it is possible you will see this error:
To resolve this issue, you will need to move your Cubbit folder to a drive with one of the file systems seen below!
Supported file systems:
- On Windows we support NTFS
- On Mac we support HFS+ or APFS with extended attributes enabled
- On Linux we support EXT4, ZFS (64-bit only), XFS (64-bit only) and BTRFS
