Here you will find information related to Security and Privacy management.
What would you like to know?
What if a virus gets into the system?
In case of an attack by a malware, any files uploaded only to the web via selective sync are safe and protected from any issues, however the files on the computer, if infected, would also be infected, including the ones in the Cubbit local folder. This does not represent any issue for the network itself but only for the local files (both within Cubbit and on your personal drives).
What happens if an infected file is stored on my Cubbit from someone else?
Since your Cell stores encrypted chunks of files, and not an entire file itself, even if they are infected, this is not an issue for the network as well. The infected files cannot be "injected" into a Cell or broader network, due to security protocols we have.
What happens if my computer gets ransomware?
Cubbit as an application doesn't offer virus protection for the user system as it isn't an anti-virus software. Cubbit always recommends using up-to-date anti-virus software and keeping operating systems up to date for security. Any files uploaded only to the web are safe and protected from any issues, however the files on the computer, if infected, would also be infected. This does not represent any issue for the network itself but only for the files that are infected.
