# How do I set permissions on buckets and objects?

You can set permissions on buckets and objects via the **Access Control List (ACL)**.

ACLs are used to grant permissions to specific Cubbit Projects or groups in order to perform specific actions on a bucket or object.

The following screenshot shows the relevant section on the [Cubbit web console](https://console.cubbit.eu) (right-click on the bucket or left-click on its three-dot menu \> *Manage*):
